The group exhibition 'Our Share of Night' delves into the potential of horror as means to confront personal and collective traumas. In times of peace, it's easy to overlook the inherent violence and brutality that permeate human existence. However, during periods of upheaval—be it through war, disease, or other crises—we're forced to confront the fragility of our physical and psychological existence as well as our moral and emotional inner turmoil.

Inspired by Mariana Enríquez's novel of the same name, which conjures the poetry of dread to navigate Argentina’s unspeakable history, this exhibition explores the complexities of horror beyond mere shock value. Enríquez aptly states that horror, emerges from the depths of trauma, guilt, and grief. In like manner, the works in this exhibition turn a dark light onto recesses of reality and history. In their haunting and quiet ways, they provide inroads into raw, unprocessed materials.

In literature, horror serves not only to frighten but also to render the incomprehensible tangible. Without the aesthetic form, the raw violence and emotional turmoil depicted in literary works would be too overwhelming to process. Yet, reality offers no such buffer against the horrors of lived experience, leaving individuals to seek solace in therapeutic interventions and artistic expressions.

Diverging from conventional approaches, 'Our Share of Night' aims to reclaim and harness the form of horror to illuminate the intricacies of trauma. By invoking a sense of dark fantasy, the exhibition strikes a delicate balance, drawing viewers into a realm that transcends immediate fear and rationality. 'Our Share of Night' invites viewers to confront their own demons, where forgotten memories and buried emotions may find expression and resolution.
